Dr. Mickila Collins Comes Home to Animal Specialty Group.
Animal Specialty Group is pleased to introduce the newest member of our Internal Medicine team, Mickila Collins. Dr. Collins, formerly Dr. Mickila Tate, is no stranger to ASG as she completed a one-year rotating internship as well as a one-year Internal Medicine specialty internship here upon receiving her DVM from Ross University and completing her clinical year at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
She returns to ASG after finishing a three-year residency program at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) in Houston, Texas. Dr. Collins is trained in multiple minimally invasive procedures including endoscopy, bronchoscopy and cystoscopy. Her main areas of interest include gastroenterology, endocrinology and respiratory disorders.
We are very excited to have Dr. Collins back on our team and look forward to the valuable contributions she will bring to Animal Specialty Group. She will be available beginning August 1, 2011 for your consultations and referrals.
A little bit about the Doc, her family, and her dogs…
Dr. Collins now resides with her husband and daughter in Manhattan Beach, along with three dogs, Sydney, Rocco and Lynus (pictured above, sans Rocco). An avid reader, beach-goer, cook, and one-time track & field heptathalon-ist, she is currently a proud wife and an accomplished mother (not necessarily in that order). In whatever spare time she can find, Dr. Collins is heavily involved with and deeply committed to Pit Bull education, support and rescue.
